The General tab is where you set your community’s public face. You can upload a logo and cover image, write a name and description, choose a custom URL, and set the privacy level. Most changes save automatically.

Branding

Upload your community icon

In the Branding section, click the icon placeholder.

Select a square image in PNG or JPG format under 2MB.

The upload starts immediately and replaces the existing icon.

Upload a cover image

In the Branding section, click the cover placeholder.

Select a wide image. Recommended size is 1084 × 576, under 5MB.

The cover appears behind your community header.

Set a background color

The Background color field is used behind the header when no cover image is set. Pick a color with the color picker or enter a hex value like #1d9bf0.

Identity

  • Name — Shown in search results, notifications, and invites. Maximum 30 characters.
  • Description — A short tagline on your community card. Maximum 150 characters.
Both fields autosave a few moments after you stop typing.

Custom URL

A custom URL makes your community easy to share. It must be 3 to 60 characters and can only contain lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.

In the Custom URL section, click Change.

Type your desired path after instaloops.com/.

Click Save URL.
If the URL is already taken, you will see an error. Try a different name.

Privacy

Choose who can discover and view your community:
  • Private — Only approved members can see posts and other members.
  • Public — Anyone can view the community and its member list.
Click the card for your preferred option. The change autosaves.

About

The About section at the bottom shows read-only metadata: support email, total member count, and the community ID.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Edit the Name field at any time and it will autosave. The new name appears in search results, notifications, and invites immediately.
Existing members keep their access. New visitors must request to join or be invited before they can see posts and the member list.
Make sure the file is a PNG or JPG and is under 2MB. Try resizing the image if it is too large.
Yes, emoji are supported in both fields. Keep the name under 30 characters and the description under 150 characters.

Troubleshooting

URLs must be 3 to 60 characters, lowercase, and contain only letters, numbers, and hyphens. If the exact name is taken, try adding a hyphen or a number.
Use the recommended 1084 × 576 size. Images with very different aspect ratios may be cropped to fit the header area.
Privacy changes autosave. If it reverts, check your network connection and try again. Contact support if the issue persists.
