At the top of the tab, a master toggle lets you silence every push and email alert at once.1
Toggle Mute all notifications to pause everything.

Toggle it again to re-enable your previous choices.
Push notifications
Push alerts are sent to your devices in real time. You can enable or disable each type individually:- Likes: when someone likes your post or comment
- Comments: replies to your posts or threads you follow
- Mentions: when someone @mentions you
- New followers: when someone starts following your profile
- Direct messages: new DMs and reactions in conversations
- Community updates: announcements, events, and admin posts

Email notifications
Email alerts are sent to the address on your account. The types mirror the push list: Likes, Comments, Mentions, New followers, Direct messages, and Community updates.Email digest
A digest rolls up what you missed and sends it on a schedule.1
Under Email digest, choose Daily, Weekly, or Never.
- Daily: sent once per day
- Weekly: sent Monday mornings
- Never: digests are turned off
Quiet hours
Quiet hours pause push notifications overnight.1
Under Quiet hours, toggle Enable quiet hours.
Direct messages
You can control DM alerts separately from other notifications:- DM push notifications: ping your devices when a new DM arrives
- DM email notifications: send an email when you receive a DM
Who can message you
Choose who is allowed to start a conversation with you:- Everyone: any community member can message you
- People you follow: only accounts you follow can start a conversation
- No one: direct messages are turned off entirely
This preference is saved on your current device only. Server-side enforcement is coming soon.

Yes. Notification preferences are global and apply across every Instaloops community you belong to. You cannot set different preferences per community at this time.

If your network connection drops while saving, the toggle may revert. Check your connection and try again. If the problem persists, refresh the page and retry.

Yes. The mute-all toggle only disables push and email alerts for the listed notification types. Email digests are controlled separately under Email digest.
Can I set quiet hours for a custom time range?
Can I set quiet hours for a custom time range?
Not at this time. Quiet hours use a fixed overnight window. For more control, mute push notifications manually or use your device’s Do Not Disturb mode.

Only accounts you actively follow can start a new conversation. Existing conversations are not affected, and you can still reply to any thread you are already in.

Check your internet connection first. If you are online but toggles keep reverting, refresh the page to reload the latest preferences, then try again. Persistent issues may indicate a server sync delay.

Confirm push notifications are enabled in your device settings for Instaloops. On mobile, check your OS notification permissions. On desktop, make sure your browser allows notifications from the site.

Add the Instaloops sender address to your contacts or safe-senders list. Check your spam or promotions folder, and mark the message as not spam to improve future delivery.
DM access setting keeps resetting

The Who can message you option is saved locally on your current device. If you switch browsers or clear your cache, the setting resets to Everyone. Server-side persistence is coming soon.
